1. About This Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the agreement between you (“the Client” or “the Couple”) and The Adventure Celebrant, operated by Eduventurous Ltd, for the planning and delivery of a non-legally binding wedding ceremony or other celebration.
By booking a ceremony, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.
2. Nature of Services
The Adventure Celebrant offers bespoke, symbolic, and non-legally binding ceremonies.
This includes weddings, elopements, vow renewals, and commitment ceremonies.
Important: I am not legally authorised to perform marriages under Scottish law.
To have a legally recognised marriage, you must complete a legal marriage process in your country of residence or through an authorised registrar.
3. Legal Marriage Requirement
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are legally married before the date of your symbolic ceremony with The Adventure Celebrant.
You will be asked to confirm this in writing. The Adventure Celebrant assumes no legal liability for the marital status of any couple.
4. Booking and Payment Terms
Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total fee is required to secure your date.
No booking is confirmed until the deposit is received and written confirmation is issued.
Final Balance
The remaining 50% balance must be paid no later than 10 days before the ceremony date.
If payment is not received by this deadline, The Adventure Celebrant reserves the right to cancel the booking.
5. Changes and Cancellations
By the Client
Cancellations must be made in writing.
The 50% deposit is non-refundable.
If cancellation is made within 10 days of the ceremony, the full fee is non-refundable.
Date changes may be accommodated at the discretion of The Adventure Celebrant and subject to availability. An admin fee may apply.
By The Adventure Celebrant
In the unlikely event that I am unable to deliver the ceremony due to illness or emergency:
I will endeavour to find a suitable replacement celebrant of a similar style and quality.
If no replacement is available, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid.
6. Creative Process
Each ceremony is bespoke and created in collaboration with the couple.
You agree to respond to requests for information or meetings in a timely manner to allow the ceremony to be written and delivered on schedule.
7. Use of Photos and Testimonials
With your consent, I may request to use photos, videos, or testimonials from your ceremony for promotional purposes.
This is entirely optional and will never be used without your express permission.
8. Liability
The Adventure Celebrant accepts no responsibility for:
The legal status of your marriage
Any events outside of my control (e.g. weather, delays, venue issues)
Any loss, damage, or injury caused by third parties
9. Data Protection
Your personal data will be handled securely in accordance with UK GDPR.

10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes will be handled under Scottish jurisdiction.
